A 22 degree halo is a visual moon ring, and according to folklore warns of forecoming climatic change. The varieties used in this project include Mediterranean grapes which are able to tolerate the harsh hot climate of the Riverland in South Australia where they are grown. These varieties are not only interesting for the Aussie wine drinker to explore, but are better suited to deal with the new climatic norms. Some would consider these "stepping-stone" wines, which bring together the familiar and the unique in a harmonious blend.
