Coonawarra Wines
The Coonawarra wine region is located in the Limestone Coast zone in South Australia. Its unique bright red terra rossa soil which is produced by the erosion of limestone over thousands of years, influences wine flavour, with winemakers able to produce world-class Cabernet Sauvignon for generations.
Family-run wineries are still the essence of the region with established winemaking families welcoming a new generation of winemakers in recent years some of which have brought alternative grape varieties to the Coonawarra including Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot.
