The Riverland is located a two and a half-hour drive north east of Adelaide in South Australia. The region follows the path of the Murray River with a backdrop of picturesque limestone cliffs. In recent years, grape growers and winemakers in the Riverland have been experimenting with alternative grape varieties including Southern Mediterranean varieties such as Montepulciano, Vermentino, and Nero d’Avola, along with the more traditional Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
