THE WINEThe red grapes used in this blend (Tempranillo, Lagrein, Aglianico Nero d'Avola and Durif) were hand-picked and then placed in a cool room immediately after harvest, allowing fruit flavours to dominate in the wine.

Ricca Terra has established a reputation based on taking risks, making change and challenging the conservative ways grapes are grown in Australia’s harsh landscape. Ashley Ratcliff, the 2015 Gourmet Travellers’ Viticulturist of the Year, grows an extensive range of Mediterranean grape varieties which produce wines full of flavour and elegance.
The winemaking is based on co-fermenting grapes at harvest in the vineyard. Natural acid and flavour retention is paramount; hence the mindset of harvesting grapes is to minimise any unnecessary post-harvest addition at the winery.
The ultimate aim is to be different, make great wines and have fun. This is the Ricca Terra way!
